Not a modelling question but who would be a SME on sherman engines? I have a friend who has found several carbs in a barn that he needs identified. Any help would be appreciated

The M4 and M4A1 used a 9 cyl Continental radial engine with an aircraft type carburator. The M4A2 was powered by 2 GMC 6-71 diesels (no carbs) The M4A3 used a big Ford GAA V8 which has two aircraft type carburators, one at each end. The M4A4 was built by Chrysler and used a composite of 5 Chrysler engines called a Multibank. Each engine had its own carburator. Most of those went to the British. The M4A6 used a Caterpillar radial diesel (no carbs). There were also a few built with Gulberson diesels. Most of the diesel powered tanks went to the Marines or the Soviet Union.
Hope this helps.

David, Matt and Richard, thanks for responding. The info on the carbs I left at work. I will check it tomorrow and get back to you. He has a mfg part #, a TM# that also has info for what he has. Again thx for the info all of you.
