Ola people
I want to share with you guys and gals my latest work.
Finished it this week. Fieldmarshall Rommel standing on top of a dune at the Atlantik Wall somewhere in May 1944 wondering when and where the invasion will land.
Looking forward to your feedback
With a friendly greet

Thanks a lot for your reply. I'm glad you like it. Aside from the fun I had with the figure I also liked creating the ground works and wooden base.

A nice idea brilliantly rendered. The pose and look is just right as is the groundwork and base- not too cluttered and angled to give interest. The barbed wire on grass and wrapped around the base is excellent. Good stuff Robert.

Thanks a lot for the compliments. I'm glad the feeling I wanted to portray came out. One of the hardest things to do. The barbed wire was also a very fun but long job. But in the end I think it pays off.

Rommel captures the eye and the base is a great background. What color are the buttons on his coat?

@ Geoff
Thanks for the kind words. It was fun attacking that wooden base with knife, Files, Sandingpaper, a saw and bashing it against the corner of a wall to get that battered weathered effect.
@ Matt
Thanks for the compliments. I tried to make the base just as visually attractive as the figure standing on it. As for his buttons. I couldn't find a definitive answer to that so I worked them with a small pensil giving them a metal finish. Which is sadly not that apparent in the angle of light I took the pictures in
