I picked up a Bronco HMMWV a while back and I've been looking for a high-realism crew to slap inside. Legend's Humvee crew models look really fantastic, but I've heard that they don't have a chance of being compatible with Bronco vehicles without serious surgery [and my sculpting skills leave much to be desired]. Does anyone else have experience with/knowledge of this particular combo, or even any other figs that would work well and look good in a Bronco M1114?

Thanks in advance!

Hi.....I used two legend figures for my humvee and they worked fine. Minus the guys on the computer I had to shave his butt down to make him fit. so if you have anymore questions please do not bother to ask....Even if your sculpting skills are not good if the doors are closed you can hide a lot of sins

What's the point of using them if you have to keep the doors closed.
You can stick any torso in a Hummvee, put the right helmet on.shut all the doors and what do you see?

Hmmm... I recall the doors stopping bullets more effectively if we drove with them closed. YMMV however. By the way, as I posted in another thread, the figures fit damned near anything with a little trimming, including aa four wheeled Gator.

Cool name by the way, Noob guy.

Sorry, but the figures require extensive sanding as well as modification of the Bronco kit to make them fit.

I dont dispute the quality of the figures, however take the gunner figure-placed in position in the bronco kit he stands way to high above the turret and is very exposed. Sanding or chopping off his feet would be very visible. The driver has problems too, if you sit him on the Bronco seat pretty much his whole head is above the windshield-thats some serious sanding required!

I agree the figures need carving (and the Bronco kit is not on my list of kits I placed the figure in) however, I did say that the actual mods we made to the gun trucks may help immensely, ie, removing the seat cushions and bending the steel frame backwards.

I'm not sure why the gunner seems too tall in the Bronco kit. If the Tamiya and Bronco kits are both scaled correctly, the figures should be about the same height. But if you're expecting them to be hunkered behind the armor, that's doesn't happen unless you sit in the strap. I trained my guys not to (like this guy, who like most iraqis we rolled with was relatively short) and always stayed way above the armor. It's the only way you can see.

Here's an even better position, seated on the lip, looking out for threats to the vehicle.

Rob, thanks a lot for that info. I can't decide whether the fitting issues people run into with this combo are a result of the actual kits, or just lack of knowledge of the actual vehicle. Nobody complains much about the gunner model along with the Legend/Tamiya Humvee, and I think the turret is scaled a little differently versus Bronco's. Maybe that's what's causing trouble?

ps Thanks, I thought long and hard about that name, thought it'd be clever
