I have two questions on the dragon 6267 kit, as very little info on the italian fron is available. The kit is an G, but all the references are on A types. Was G even deployed to Italy?
1. The rear engine deck. When was the raised left grille introduced, and was it even seen in Italy? I find the rectangular grilles in combo with the low ones a strange combo.
2. The exhaust config. In the book "Panthers - In action" i see a 3+2 exhaust pipe config, but this is not in the kit.
My project has kind of grined to a halt here, so i need some german panzer expertice.

Cannot be sure on that one, but as far as I know Ausf G never made to Italy. Maybe someone else knows for sure.

It was a fan for a crew compartment heater. They were introduced in October of 1944.

I am not sure what do you mean by "3+2 exhaust pipe config", but if you are talking about two cooling pipes attached to the left exhaust it was usually done on Ausf A, not G.
But I do have a picture with them on Ausf G (or Jagdpanther). Pretty confusing...

Thanx guys.
So no winter/heater was nott seen in Italy. Perfect.
And to the question of G type ever was deployed there, we donīt know for sure?
Itīs rather strange that Dragon mede thisone, if there never were any on that scene.

I.Pz rgt 26 (I.Pz rgt 4 before 2.1945) fielded both ausf A and ausf G.
The roof anti air armor package was probably a unit modification and unique to this unit. So any panther A or G you see with that armor was likely from Italy.
Hi again
yeah, im comfy with the roof armour. Its more a question of the correct engine deck on these ausf. G machines. It buggs me not to know the correct layout and combination. The sceme doesnīt help much, as some parts are optional, but it doesnīt say how to use different configs.
On the other hand, it doesnīt seem to be a digital answer. Just like with russian armour.

Hi Frank,
go ahead with no crew heater, use parts A9 for the low circular fans.
Here is a cover shot of Panzer Wrecks 1 (worth picking up if youre into Italian front Panthers) showing the low fan arrangement.
You can also add armor plates to the engine deck, this seemed to be a feature fitted to some I./4 Panthers
Hope this helps,
Sam.
