Thanks, but I don't think I understand what you mean exactly. Do you have a pic? "anmuddy mix of greens and bowns" - I'm lost. Sorry.

Hi Charles ........ no need for special products when making muddy water. Clear varnish is all you need. Make the water body by using poured gips. It will level out itself with a slightly thinner mixture. Paint what colour you want ... browns or olive! Then paint a few layers of gloss varnish tinted whatever colour you want. This can be very effective if you dont want to show anything underneath. For ripples or effects use clear gel superglue before painting over with varnish layers. The more varnish layers the better. See below for my water using this method, but I used dark greens as it was a city water. Same idea.

Thanks Plasticbattle. Great idea. The depth of the water in question is going to be about 30-35mm in depth.
You said to use clear gel super glue. Is this just the ordinary super glue or is it a special type? Any particular name brand you used?

Havent a clue what the brand type was. I bought it in Biltema. They had small tubes ... one was thinner and faster drying...yellow in colour and the other was gel... slower drying.. blue in colour. I think they were 9-10sek. Worked perfect. I still use them.
