Hello, I am planning an Italian ww2 diorama with a stone or brick wall with damaged stucco. I know that many walls were painted but if they were not painted what colour would the stucco generally be in it's natural state.
Many thanks,
Paul

light grey.

I confirm. But usually on the brick walls there's plaster, there's no stucco.

Unpainted plaster usually is rough and light gray. To depict it in a right way in my opinion you could do also a white drybrush on a light gray base.

Anyway in southern Italy walls are painted with lime so usually they are white

Cheers
