Was the BMP-3 deployed in any combat or peace keeping operations? If so, by what nations? I have only found the UAE deploying them in KFOR but thats about it. Any other help would be great!

Thanks!

RPG impact (Grozny, Spring 1995) :

A quick question, if I may... does the UAE version have obvious differences than the other Russian versions that Trumpeter released? Other than the one with all the added armor, of course!

Hearing that they were used in Chechnya just makes my day. I was hoping to hear that. Makes my motivation go through the roof.

Frenchy and Igor, do you have any more photos?

Unfortunately, the only other Chechnya picture I know just shows a BMP-3 turret

...but I'll check my archive when I'm back home from work.

Edit : just found this one (mine damage 1995) :

Are you going to build the new Trumpeter w/ the ERA?

Squadron has them:

I planned on building the early BMP 3. I just need to find Miniarm wheels, tracks/sprockets which are out of stock everywhere

I found this on a search for BMP-3s in Dagestan:

There don't seem to be many pictures out there of it in combat use.

The UAE BMP3 has some visible differences mainly in the turret area. The tracks have rubber pads unlike the Russian ones (at least to my knowledge). If you intend to build one, you'd better buy the Trumpeter UAE kit.

I wonder if some of the etch for the Russian version would be suitable for the UAE version...

Thanks, Frenchy.. looks like the differences are mostly in the turret. I like the look of the one with the ERA.. but can't really model it in any kind of diorama or vignette in action, right?

I would recomend the Voyage PE basic set for your BMP3. It has a few fit issues, but is a dream to apply. For that matter, you can buy the ERA separately from Voyager.

I planned on it. I love their products and they're really easy to assemble. Eduard is a bit too flimsy

But aren't the sprockets incorrect too? Do these tracks come with sprockets?

I meant to ask, which sprocket do you use with the metal tracks? The one with 13 teeth or 12 teeth?

Many thanks for the pics Igor.

The main question is: do you know if BMP3 used in first Chechnya war are equiped with 12 or 13 teeth sprocket?

If i could avoid buying Miniarm sprocket + tracks i'll be very glad since i want modelling a 1995's BMP3!!!!

Thanks in advance

Are BMP-3 tracks similar to BMP-2 tracks, or are they totally different?
