Hi folks,

Here is what I have done with my HB WMIK so far, and am hoping to finish it in the next week or so.
That is including finishing all the clear parts and piling-on all sensible stowage.
All comments and suggestions are welcome,

Cheers,

Hermann

Looks fine to me.
Are you going to add the spare wheel mounts on the cage and the cam net basket on the bonnet (hood)?

That looks great...the replacement fender adds to the overall build. I am just waiting for my Legend WMIK stowage to arrive from China to start mine. Also hoping Legend or someone does some resin wheels.

Hi,

Malcolm and Jason, thank you for the positive feedback, much appreciated!

IMHO the kit is already quite good all by itself, of course there are still many many possibilities for upgrades with PE and accessaries, wheels included.

The spare wheel will go on the roll cage as usual, but the basket looks non-functional and silly to me so I'll think of something else to put on the hood!
Anyway a lot of pictures show that some Brits got rid on the basket in-situ or it was not installed at all.

Now, back to stowing things on the Defender,

Cheers,

Hermann

Hi folks,

here's a little update on the stowage progress,

now the spare wheel is being mounted onto the roll cage, and on the right side of the vehicle are stowed some borrowed gear.

hope you enjoy the built so far,

your suggestions are much appreciate,

BTW, the old SAS man was there just for size comparison,

Cheers,

Hermann

Once again I see the commander/passenger seat belt receiver on the 'outside' of the seat?

Everybody so far has failed to relocate it to the inside/center of the seat. A basic mistake, unless it is that way in your personal car? If it is, it won't pass an inspection!

I am not picking on you as the quality of your work is great so far, just pointing out the obvious.

Keith.

Hi Keith,

Thanks for the heads-up on the receiver, will modify that later on,

meantime here's an update on how I intend to stow the hood,

hope you enjoy the progress so far,

Cheers,

Very nice build Herman the only thing I can see that mite be wrong is the front wing painted green? most of the land rovers I ever saw that had a panel replaced were usally matt black, not to say that it is wrong to have it painted green it adds a nice contrast to the model.

Hi Terry and Scott,

Thanks for the constructive feedback,

that particular replacement panel is green, I like to think of it being lifted from a wrote-off landy on scene, and not from the depot. Does it make sense ? Hmmm,,,,,
Anyway, here's an overall view of the landy at present,

Its taking longer to stow than I first envisaged,

Hope u enjoy the built so far,

Cheers,

Hermann

Looks great Herman.
Just started mine last night: the engine is incredable (shame it won't be seen) but the chassis looks like it could be a problem and need lots of filler and sanding. Any chance of a picture of the under-side please?

Hi Sean and Jason,

Thank you for your kind words!

The landy is coming along fine, and here's two pictures of the engine bay and the underbelly as requested,

Enjoy,

Cheers,

Hermann
