DML have announced the forthcoming release of a Type 2 (Ka-Mi) amphibious tank.

Hopefully, by "same technology used to produce pz. III and IV kits" they mean that this is set up to use the molds to make other kits. Additional Japanese armor would be most welcome. I'm looking for the actual arrival of this kit on the shelves.

Looking forward to this one. It 'should' build up pretty easily I would think. Could be a great platform for some intense Pacific style weathering. Can't wait to see it in the light of day.

Fantastic news! I hope they will prouce more Japanese WWII armour. There are some great camouflage and weathering options.

If things will go like it has been developing over the last years, we will suddenly be overwhelmed by Japanese armour kits from all manufacturers at the same time.

Hey, Bill, there were three of these at Saipan. Several more at Guam. Wonder if the floats will be included in a later release. Maybe we will see a new set of Japanese figures. Of course, I'm still waiting for the Peleliu Marines to hit the shelves.

Sorry , to me this is a bit of a let down . New Japense tank, great ,, but only half a kit IMO. It would be like getting a Sherman DD without floatation screen and props or a Churchill bridge layer with no bridge . Will wait until the full kit is released

I understand your frustration, but unless you are building this in the water you dont need them. They dumped them when they got ashore, so if you have this thing "int he jungle" having the pontoons on it would be out of place...

I said the same thing until I cracked it open and started looking at the parts. It is a great looking kit. I have noticed some instruction omissions and mislabeling (all dealing with the turret) but the kit is going together like a dream. Fit is great and the detail is fantastic. One of Dragons best.

Are you documenting all the instructional errors. I've found quite a few, mostly with the swapping of part numbers but one ommision and a very unclear procedure. I agree, the quality of the molding on this kit is the some of the best I've seen. Very well done. I hope they do a Type 95.

Yes, documenting very carefully. No fit issues, no molding issues, great build. It looks like the indy link tracks will be a must as the DS tracks fit very tight with no sag at all.
