The Cheaper Than Dirt! store has been selling some Chinese military pouches, including a bag with Chairman Mao's face on it, and a grenade pouch which has since sold out. I bought both items and noticed they were a pale olive green as described in the Osprey Korean War book. I do not know from which era either item dates from-they are in unused condition but not modern in design, with real wood fasteners on the grenade pouch. I cannot help but wonder if these are possibly Korean War-era items (at least the greande pouch) or of the same design and material type.

I couldn't imagine the Chinese making knock-off items...

The Mao bag maybe, since I saw a Chinese man quoted in a magazine article that he despised Mao Zedung but Western customers wanted stuff with his image on it. But the grenade pouches were selling very cheaply and probably weren't worth knocking off.
