Hi tank fans!
So I recently aquired Tamiya's old M1 Abrams kit (NOT M1A1) and I want to paint it in the solid green scheme used by US troops in Europe at the time. Tamiya suggest OD, but I'm pretty sure this is incorrect. Squadron describes it as "Forest Green:" but does not supply an FS number. Anyone have a suggestion, especially for Polly Scale out-of bottle matches?
TIA,
Damon.

Base color was FS-34079 Green, available from Testors Model Master. Officially, the four-color MERDC scheme was still in force, but few units bothered with it in the 1980's (there were twelve colors available, so there was a dizzying number of alternate four-color schemes, suitable for any terrain on the planet, but real units had neither the time nor the personnel to implement it, so most tanks stayed in 34079 until the three-color NATO scheme replaced it).

I have a couple tanks from the early 80s myself and I am thinking of going ALL MERDC with them, one typical woodland, one Winter, and one desert.... anyone have photos or paint schemes Id appreciate seeing them!

Lifecolor includes FS 34094 Green in their MERDC set. It is color #UA303 and can be purchased by the bottle.
