This is my first attempt at a Sherman (second if you count the one I did in 5th grade). It's Tamiya's M4A3 75mm #35250. The crew is Dragon's US Tank Crew NW Europe 1944 #6238. (in the process of adding the legs to the guy hanging on the main gun).
I was inspired to do this build by a free issue of FSM that I got at AMPS East last year. The cover story featured a step by step build of this kit by James Wechsler. The article demonstrates how to do an "old school" build with wire, styrene and Tenex.
In keeping with the "old school" theme I stayed away from resin and stuck with plastic stowage from the kit and Tamiya's Allied Vehicle Accessory set.

Sherb,
Looks really good, I always like the old school modeling! I like the mix and match of the road wheels that you have depicted, adds an extra level of visual interest with those type of details. Keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing this one with some paint on it!

Sherb, you've added a lot of great details! The more I look at the photos, the more work I see. I like the stowage layout too. What material did you use to create the straps on the packs hanging from the turret?

Thanks Michael, the straps are made from wine bottle foil.
As for all the details, if it wasn't for that FSM article and some posts here I wouldn't know what to add.

Very cool. I've heard of people using foil from wine bottles for straps and such, but I don't think I've ever seen it used. That's a nice tip.
The figures really add to the build, and like Rick said, I'm looking forward to seeing this painted up!

Great looking build.
I have that issue of FSM sitting in front of me. I keep re reading it as I only have about 10 of the tamiya M4A3’s in my stash.
Looking forward to seeing this painted up!
