I just returned home from overseas and am looking forward to getting back to my building. I have two Tamiya kits, the Panther Ausf G (late) and a Jagdpanther. I was looking at my Squadron/ Signal book on Panthers and couldn't tell if all the Ausf G's had zimmerit or not, also would the Jagdpanthers have zimm on them? And lastly, which Friulmodel tracks would be the most correct for these two kits? Thanks in advance!

Hi Art Zim dicontinued in Sept 44. Early Panther G recived it and there are pictures of hybrid G s with Zim'ed turrets and non Zim;ed hulls. Late G,s did'nt. Also most late G were all painted at the factories, receaving simiular patterns. So it would be worth checking these camoflage patterns out, before getting the paint out. Again Early Jag's were also Zimm'ed . Sorry but I have'nt got Tamiya's JagPanther so I dont know its a G1 early or Late. Easy was to tell are the early had a single piece barrel the late had a Two piece 88 . Also late Jags had a bolted collarpiece that covered the gun opening and earlies had a welded one. Hope this Helps Geraint Sorry Forgot the Fruil needed are Panther A, G tracks with chevrons.

Tamiya's 1/35 Jagdpanther is a late model, no need for zim.
