I threw this one together over the last few days. mostly construction is straightforward. then you get to the tracks. they were a challenge to say the least.
while taking the photos i noticed a few spots where one or two links had come apart. but fixing those ones opened up gaps in other spots. i glued the tracks before painting them but they still came apart.
I still have a few touchups to do (like the sprockets) and i will be adding some more figures.
a few tank rider figures will be added later.

For something you 'threw together' quickly it sure is good! A great paint-job too- what did you go for in respect to the paint?

Looks like an IS-2 to me. Good job. I hear you about the track problem. Hope it works out in the end.

Yeah I thought it was CM as the shadows and highlights are very nicely defined.

Nice job!!!
Don't worry about the tracks... some extra dust and mud will hide the problem

I don't think the figures are too bad. If you want to improve them then you should have a browse through the tutorials on Historicus Forma or even pick up Osprey's 'Modelling Scale Figures' title.
I think the figures lend the tank a nice bit of life and scale. Nice job.

Hi Dylan
You did a very good job in my opinion. I can't notice the track flaw, so all is ok
Figures are very good. The only thing that I did on them if i were you It's adding more shades and highlights (of course I'm referring just to the soldiers light brown suits)
Congrats

Interesting. Reviews of this kit when it was released crowed about how easy the tracks were to put together and install. They look fine though.
You did a great job on the painting and weathering. Did you fill the sponsons?

dylan,
good work on the stalin....figures is awesome..
may i ask if this the old dragon kit?? i got the kit 10 years ago... problem is the hull top and bottom are low and will touch the tracks.. did u fix this?? i plan to raise about 2mm for the chasis and hull join so it will give some allowance to the tracks (just like u did with this build) ... well my plan was not realized and put in the box. got some eduard PE as well....
nice work indeed... love it..
