Well done my friend!!!
I have a lot of t-55 pics but of course i haven't already had your pics
As you know i'm very interested in this subject because is my favorite tank and because i'm very interested in War in former Yugoslavia
i've been building a jna t-55 and i have another tamiya kit in my stash. I was thinking to do a russian one but because of your pics i could change my mind and do a croat exemplar
Where did you take the pics?
Do you know to whom it belonged ? So what was its "tenk brigade"?
Where the tank was employed ?
It was of course a Jna tank it isn't ?
The camo scheme is the original one, or did croats make modification on it?
Anyway thanks a milion indeed !!
(....and if you have perhaps other pics that you didn't post here, please send them to me,of course if you don't mind and if you want to ...thanks a lot in advance)
cheers

Hey Mauro,im glad this helped you, this tank is showed in museum of Turanj, near Zagreb.
I belonged to 1.GRB Tigrovi,it was used in slavonija and baranja (?) i does not have a ID so thats a problem,i think it was repainted, but with original colors and scheme.
I am going there next month again,so if you need any more close-ups just say,i still have to post M4A3 walkaround!
Kind regards,Sven.

Sven
I have a question for you about a detail which puzzles me. I've already seen this tank in Cappucino.hr site and I've noticed an odd thing on the engine deck
As you can see under the engine deck grills there are armour plates. Furthermore grills are not the original ones which aren't square but rhomboidal
In my humble opinion a grill mounted over an iron plate doesn't make sense. A grill would make pass the air to cool the engine so why are there those metal sheets and those grills?
As far as you know does the tank work ?
It seems to me that square grills were mounted on the tank during its restauration to depict the T-55 appearance, but actually they looked different when the tank was on duty.
What do you think about?

Hi Sven
As this tank is certainly not to be used anymore, the museum guys may have decided to block the air vents to be easy in their mind...Museum and "gate guardians" AFVs often have vents, access panels, doors or vision blocks welded shut especially when they're displayed outside. You can see weld beads around the other engine deck doors.
They just added grills for the look ...even if they're not accurate
Just a guess...

Hey Mauro, I think that those blank off sheets were just put there to keep stuff from falling through. The mesh is just for appearances. Like you said, there is no reason for them to be there on an operational tank. Cools pics, great looking paint scheme, may have to try that myself. Of course that would require me to buy another Tamiya T-55. I have 1 built (standard Soviet Ver.), 5 more unbuilt (to be built as Iraqi Enigma, Iraqi Type-69-II Command, Russian Navy, Russian T-54 1949 and Syrian T-55 with Dozer blade BTU-55) need 2 more (Russian Kladivo and Syrian with KMT-5) and now maybe another for this version. Can never have too many T-55s or T-62s.

Frenchy and Roy, thanks a lot
That's what I thought, i asked to confirm my first impression
But if someone followed just the pics he would be wrong, so it has been better to explain it
Me too Roy, me too...those are my favorite ever tanks

Oh Jesus, I just remembered I have a Blast Tiran 5 Conversion in my stash. That means I have to find another Tamiya T-55 kit. So I have one built, 5 unbuilt and need 4 more to complete the series that I wish to model for a total of 10 T-55s. And who knows I will probably find a few more T-55 subjects worth modeling by the time I get finished with a few more (I think a North Viet Nam Type 59 would be cool). I better get started.
