Hi John

Here are some pics showing a CCKW fitted with a Quick-Way crane (I'm not 100 % sure this combination was used in WW2 as the Quick-Way crane was usually fitted to bigger, 6-ton trucks : Brockway, White, Corbitt... ):

Another option : you'll find many pics of another CCKW crane truck variant here (the crane is a Schield Bantam ABM-51) :

ThanksFfrenchy for these pics. This GMC crane trucks seems to be a collectionner's fantasy

The Vanderveen book and 1943 TM9-2800 dont speak about GMC wQuickway crane, but 4tons truck., and evidently 6 tons carriers as Brockway

I agree Pascal... the Quick-Way crane appears to be a bit too much for a 2.5ton truck chassis. Just a 1:1 What-if project maybe

It's possible that it may have been retrofitted in the field at some point in time. Not sure why somebody would do that though...

Hi john.

Quick way crane was used with Coleman, GMC, Corbitt 666 and I have seen a picture over a Mac AC (I think).

During some years I have looked for information about Coleman version. If you are interested I have some drawings (of TM) about Quick way crane although I would need to find to they..

Pascal, have in the manual more information about Coleman truck with Quick way?

Regards.

Pedro.

No more information about Coleman truck in the TM9-2800. It is a catalog from all existing US vehicles in 1943.
I have a copy from the original reedited by Brooklands Book ISBN 1 870642 66X

The "1945 CCKW prototype ABM-51 Schield-Bantam crane" rather looks like a Quick-Way

Here are some pics of the ABM-51 with a shovel boom :

According to the related thread, the ABM-51 is apparently a post-war crane...

...Hum..I stand corrected ! It's not a Quick-Way

Could it be the very same crane in this picture ? :
