Guys -
my local AMPS club is hosting a seminar. You can read about it here:
https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/176520&page=1#1481531
One of the presenters is Iain Hamilton of AK Interactive USA. Being a "hands-on" demonstration, Iain needed something that every participant could paint.
35 identical kits was not in the budget- so a simple item like a wedgie was required.
Here is my attempt at it; An E-25 semi- submerged in a pond:
Just dropped a couple of copies in the mail to Iain. He should be posting the good stuff by Sunday.

The tiniest little update----
Iain has received his, assembled it and will be priming it just about now---
I am happy with the cast copies- but you guys know what Iain can do with a paint brush!
I am beyond psyched!

Great piece Steve, I'm really looking forward to this seminar day! We're going to have a lot of fun!
Master modelers, good friends, good food, classes, beer and models...a perfect day!
If any of you are within traveling distance of Pawtucket, RI, you HAVE to sign up for this day! I can't begin to tell you how much you can learn in person and how much fun you'll have! At the last one, we finished the day with a round robin free for all discussion group, where guys asked any question they wanted and somebody had the answer. There were a lot of Zen moments! Lots of laughter, too. I was sad when we had to go home!

Matt, Steve. My name is Matt. How many years have we known each other?
I'm gonna have to buy a shock collar for you.
You'll learn my name real fast. Unless you like that kind of thing..........

Hey Matt-
sorry about that! I have so few friends with two first names that it never became a problem.
However- I do it so frequently with you that there must be something to it. Either my brain is mis-wired or resin fumes really are bad for you.
It won't happen again (today).

Well alright,
The E-25 from Celticwerks shown here will be issued to all. Basecoated in AK Interactive Dunkelgelb Color Modulation set. We will then explore filters, washes, chipping, grime streaks, dust effects, mud effects, & slimy grime used to create a waterline of slimy muck!
In this image, Vallejo Dark Tan with Winter Streaking Grime & Slimy Grime Dark has been applied with a sponge to create a mottled muddy greenish brown that will serve as the muddy water color under Vallejo's "Still Water".
We are looking forward to spending the day with all of you who will attend the Nordland "Evolution" event on 6.25.11.

With just a few hours work, "sinkie" has come to life. Shown here are some of the basic weathering techniques that we will discuss and practice.
This is the example we will use for the Nordland "Evolution" demonstration from AK Interactive USA. If any of you are unable to attend and have questions or comments, please feel free to post them here. Otherwise.....we will see you June 25th!

Iain-
Ohhhh Yeah! Man you can paint!
I love the chipping around the hatches and the rain streaking!
The water effect will be key to pulling this off. The tank is absolutely 1st class!

Oh, Man. Cannot wait for this event. Really looking forward to learning some new tips and styles from Iain as well as learning how to paint/weather Joe Farinas bases. This is going to be one hell of a kick * show. I can definately see this show providing the proverbial "wave" I can ride out until AMPS in September. Glad I booked early.
Steve, those wedgies look great..I think you have an evil scientist cloning experiment going on in that basement "magic factory" of yours.

I cannot speak for the others - but I would be willing to come out to Las Vegas and put on exactly the same event-
IF you could guarantee that the event proceeds would cover my expenses.
Probably much, much, much easier to recruit one of the many, many, many larger talents out there and just follow our model.
