Dear friends, anyone has experience building the earlier trumpeter kits like the js3m etc wonder if it's my lack of skills, I find the js3m Plastic quite bad and the fitting is horrendous.
Anyone has any comments or experience with the earlier trumpeter kits? I wonder if the trumpeter Reanult tanks suffer the same problems...

I got one of their older motorized Chi Com T - 69 ( I think ) to use for parts of a 40K Space Marines / Tamiya kit bash . Terrible plastic ,and the lower hull was a different plastic than the rest of the kit - wouldn't glue with Testors liquid ,tube , or super glue . Ended up trashing both kits . .

The weird plastic was endemic of their earlier kits. I believe Weld-On was able to dissolve the plastic enough to form a good bond, if you're still set on building it.

Hi guys
Gentlemen, ah I see so i am not the only one who had problems with their plastic and poor fit..and I thougth the older italeri were bad..
I have fininshed 99 percent of the nightmare js3m, it's just that the funny rubberish plastic gives the kit a poor toy like appearance even with much tlc and after priming. Hope it becomes better after AB and weathering.
Now I cringe when I think of the other 2 old trumpeter Reanult tanks in my stash..will think twice before getting their older kits next time no matter h

Hello Kiong ,, I've built a heap of Trumpeter tanks now and these models are like yoyo's ,,you can get a great one ..a ok one and one you just want to pull your hair out over .. so far i've built 3 SDKF7 verisons and each one has been a real nightmare ..most parts won't slot into there places because the parts are to big ..this struck me as strange as the much earlier kits i built ..like the Swedish S tank..AS90.Challenger 2 , 3 verisons of a chinese tank ..missile verison, tank hunter and SPG ..these kits went together without any problems. i think that Trumpeter use differant people to make there models sometimes .

I don't think you'll have trouble with theTrumpeter French Renault kits. The quality of those kits is much better than the earlier Trumpeter kits. I have some of the Trumpeter Armored train kits and they are a joy to build. Sorry about the poor quality of the JS3m.
