This morning I received in the mail a 1/35 scale ZU23 in resin with metal barrels. What a beautiful little kit - judging from the look I had this morning before work!!

I have no link to this Company - I am just very impressed with the kit - and the communications and customer service were really top notch. I have put the URL below.

They have the ZPU4 listed as well which is high on my list and should be ready soon!!

Well done to this Company - we need more like this!!

Best regards

I received mine last week! The main chassis was slightly warped but easily fixed with hot water. The parts are crisply cast, no bubbles, and such small parts to cast so delicately out of resin!

The wheels and gunsight details are wonderfully detailed too. I can't wait to get started on a wonderful lillte project!

You are some lucky fellas guys, those Hussar wheels are top notch and I think that kits look very promising. Any chance we will get to see a build log from any of you?

I'll post some pics shortly - not a build log per se - I put it together last night and this morning - goes together superbly. I'll try and get some photos on here of the unpainted but assembled kit.

Finally, a kit that didn't stay in my stash for long!!!

Awesome guys, it would be a shame to have such a nice kit and not share it with fellow modelers

That is a great looking kit. I had a look at their site but that is under construction so I could not find any information on who sells their product in Europe. Do any of you know of a European seller?

Cheers,

Great looking guns. Andiy also has a couple 1/35 helo pieces coming out; an MH-47G conversion set, and an MH-60G external gun mount set. I am anxiously awaiting them as well.

Hi guys!

Thanks for kind words - this project did not come easy. If my memory serves me well I started to work on this gun back in 2007 after seeing a photo of an American made M-113 with Russian made Zu-23 mounted on it! I believe the photo was taken in Beirut in 2006, I just loved the combination of these two!
If in case with M-113 I had two options to use Academy or Tamiya (both great) models, with Zu-23-2 there is nothing to select from. SKIF model is VERY simplified! In fact so simplified that it is actually easier to build the whole thing from scratch.
The kit is a real team effort! The wheels were measured by my friends in museum in Moscow and then designed in 3D with help of Hussar Pro. (Thanks again Mike)
The barrels were designed in 3D and milled by Master Models from Poland (Thanks again Piotr!)
The molds for the initial batch of parts were designed and fabricated by Sid Arnold from Armoured Brigade Models (Thanks Sid!)
Right now I am working on casting parts for the second batch of kits. Please be patient with me - it might take me some time but I will do my best to keep the kit going for some time to come!

Gino,
I will send you my reply in an e-mail.

Cheers!
PS
I am looking forward to see some of these kits done! I mean with paint on them! So.... get back to work!

Andy

These pictures look much better in the barrels.
Do not forget the wheel lock lever either.
Cradles in front of the handle is not straight up and bend.
The barrels, handles, tilt inward (there will be a replacement tube).

When will it be available in the ZPU-4?

That looks great. Good job on it. Do you plan to put it in a dio or vignette? I saw a bunch of these during the invasion of Iraq. They were all over the place around the Sadam (Baghdad) International Airport.

Thanks Gino,

No dio as yet! I have a big shelf collection of soviet equipment - so really just a part of a collection, although I have thought about dabbling in the odd vignette.

We'll see how it goes?

Best regards

Wow, that was fast! Awesome work on both of your builds guys.

Melnikov: The added copper is really nice.

Ian: Great job finishing yours! The barrel color is throwing me off a little as it's not what I am used to seeing, but it's not like I'm an expert or anything. I really dig the painting on your kit, and the dirt in the tire treads is perfect.
Don't worry about not having a dio, all of my kits just go straight to the shelves once built. I really need to start making bases so that I can at least start getting some "earth" under them

Andy: You rock! Keep at it as much as you guys can

The ZAP-23, reflex optical sigth (anti aircraft sight 1.), and T-3 (2) ground scope sight.

Much nicer than the Kuznetsov's model!
To the building the "air targeting sight" equipment?

I look forward to a ZPU-4 set!

Regards, Gábor.
