Has anyone built or bought these sets yet. I don't want to build them, I'm just curious as to how many figures come in each set. I don't really see the utility in them other than a parade setting.

Here are a couple of the ones I am talking about. They have quite a few different sets of them.

They seem like a strange release with limited utility to me. Any other opinions on them?

I imagine that these figure sets were developed for Bronco's domestic Chinese market and are just "incidentally" available internationally. Also, there are lots of figure modelers who're interested in various time periods and subjects who might find these more interesting than us primarily-armor modelers.

They would seem to be fair options for vignettes or dios featuring some of Trumpy's modern Chinese armor painted up in parade colors, too.

The number 60 is printed on the box. I imagine that there are maybe sixty figures. Are they those soft plastic ones like toy soldiers that are molded all in one piece ? Not a lot of possibilities for display. I, am a big fan of variety but I think it would have been better had they put out some figures like more US , British, Japanese, and things that are short in variety. Hello...............WW I stuff please.....These could be made for the local Chinese market, but I can tell you ,had they made a sixty piece set of identical US soldiers marching, I would not buy them either. PS .........Just realized the set commemorates a 60 Th. Anniversary so who knows how many are in the box. You would have to read Chinese.

They were. These though are the tip of the icebeg as three major manufacturers (HB, Trumpeter & Bronco) are now developing a number at PLA subjects which for those of us who have little or no real interest in the subject, is excellent news

If the companies DO (and there's no reason to assume they won't) good business and develop a strong domestic model-kits market then that money will be ploughed into other projects (with a greater 'International' appeal).

Win-Win for all of us...

Like you guys have pointed out already- they are aimed at the Chinese market. I wouldn't mind seeing what is actually in the box though!!
Personally I think a bigger figure size (say 1/16) would have more mass appeal as some sort of display piece. What I hope is that the Chinese companies will release some generic poses (not parade ground stuff) of modern Chinese figures that would go with the various pieces of armor out there.

I'm just a sucker for a woman in uniform (PLA female soldier set, of course ), and it looks like you only get the three foreground figures which are all identical, except for uniform color. The number '60' refers to the 60th National Day Parade. If you like little Chinese ladies in uniform, this is the thing to get .

...maybe the originals are more "interesting" than the copies...

There are four figures in the "marching women" set (35076) not sure about the others, but would guess the same.

Do they at least have different faces, or are they all clones?
