Started back up on my Vietnam War Tunnel project for my Classroom. In the diorama I will have M48 and Ground troops entering a Village. The base of the Diorama will be the tunnel system. Started modifying the M48… not going for exact image, more the look and feel of the Vietnam era for the students.
Also found at a garage sale last year a M113. Previous owner (11 yrs) had built it and used it as a “tonka toy” in the backyard and busting most of it up. But being a cheap Scot by heritage, I could not pass up the 25 Cent deal. So I strip it and have built it back up (thanks to those show have sent me spare wheels and other parts).
Had to built my own rear drop gate from styrene and have set up the interior based on a description my Uncle Bob gave me (3 tours in Nam) and some pics I found online. Among other details, this include a wooden platform for the M60 gunner through the top hatch to fight from and sandbags on the floor to counter impact of landmines
More to come . . .
