Since the main gun on the M50 was developed from the Panthers gun it would use the same ammo, right? Or did the French develop different ammo?

Hey Bret ... been doing alot of hunting on the info you need ..trust me i aint finding much ,,it would seem that the two rounds are not the same in the fire power they have but i cant find a single thing to say if they look the same .. one thing i did find said that the M50 rounds are shorter than the ones used in the Panther ,,one book i think you need to hunt down is Janes ammunition handbook,,find someone with a copy cause its costs over $700 US so "OUCH" but i am pretty sure that that book will give you the info you need ..sorry i couldnt be more help

Hey Bret,
I'm looking at www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/isreal/sherman.htm and they are stating that only 14 were in service by the time of the end of the '48 War for Independence armed with the Krup 75mm field gun. However, in the 50's, with the help of France, they were armed with the M50 75mm gun.
Check it out, maybe you can use this info., best I can find.

Hope this helps some.
