DML, once again goes for the large (or extravagant, depending on your point of view) with this new release in 1/6th scale. No, it iSN''T a typo...

it had been available (71450), for 700 or 800 bucks now.
My question is, why doesn't one buy a 1:6 metal tank if spending that much.
And that price is not going to stay. the 1:6 zundapp (2 wheels...) is 600 bucks now. $600 for a motorcycle that didn't exist? Ouch!
The $500.00 version was for the prebuilt model of this kit that came out last year. I will be in for one (or two) of these kits as are many other 1/6th scale tank fans.

Frankly, if it was as detailed as one of their recent 1/35th Scale Smart Kits, I could understand the hoop-la. It isn't - and that's only going by the poster... . You'd get a fair selection of Smart Kits for that price as well.
I don't think (in fairness to DML) it's even aimed at the Armor Enthusiasts, I get the impression it's aimed squarely at those who are into the 1/6th Scale Figures.

that's my view too, Jim. 700$ for a kit is pretty expensive (even if it is 1:6), so if you're not a 1:6 fan, i don't think you'd fork that money for that kit. not to forget, that for that money you can go crazy on couple of kits + PE + resin AM pieces + AM tracks and what not
