Good, clean start Sven

Although as you probably have already known, i don't like at all ww2 italian tanks, I'll follow carefully your build .

As far as i know the most difficult thing about the p-40 is the camo scheme

And BE VERY CAREFUL because the italeri coloured profiles are quite wrong! i've read it on an italian modeller magazine

Cheers

Hello Mauro .
This pics are from last week, its ready for primer (waiting for firul tracks ).
Do you maybe know is the one tone green profile correct?
I want to do a one tone scheme, because i dont have the "guts" to do a multiple colored one yet.

Kind regards,Sven.

if you're going to paint in a one tone scheme there's no problem. The problem would be if you did the german exempler.

So for the sand you can use also

UA097

UA112

Humbrol 93

For the green shades the closest references are

UA 216 (dark green)

and

UA 214 (dark olive green)

You can find all them in this set

Mauro: WWII Italian tanks weren't the cream of the crop by any means, it's understandable that they aren't a favorite amongst most people. I still think they're interesting to learn about. I certainly never would have wanted to man one in combat.

Sven: That Lifecolor set is a pretty good set for Italian armor. I forgot, are you building the Italeri or Tamiya kit?

You're right Jeremy, I agree. But the reason why I'm not interested in italian tanks is not because I think that tey are not interesting... I don't like them only because in my opinion they are....ugly, incredibly ugly. Usually they look like small sardine cans Some subject is ugly but fascinating, such as for example the Russian KV2 or the Quad gun tractor...italian tanks in my opinion, are just ugly and not fascinating at all

But anyway. I think that's a matter of taste

But it's better than an old Heller or Alan kit would have been Italeri is pretty stellar on a lot of their soft skins such as the Camionettas, but they have never been truly good with their tanks as far as I remember.

I'll be building the Italeri kit too, but not until next year unless I get it as an early Christmas or birthday present

Even not so bad Sven... Of course is not a top notch kit, but anyway the italian modellers are quite satisfied about the latest improvements of Italeri
If it didn't enough good It wouldn't be produced also by Tamiya

Anyway, as I promised, I've looked for other references for you Sven

Here you are

http://www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx?art_id=856

http://www.cmpr.it/art.%20L%206%20ingl/art.%20L-6%20ingl..htm

http://www.comandosupremo.com/forums/topic/2495-interior-colour-of-italian-tanks/

http://www.ww2incolor.com/forum/showthread.php?4054-Italian-tanks-and-AFVs.

The italian olive green SHOULD be a FS 34052

Valleyo reference is the number 88

In my opinion maybe it looks a little bit darker, but anyway, colors are not the same after the weathering

If were you I'd clear with a bit of yellow sand

I hope this isuseful for you
if I find something else I'll tell you

cheers

Actually I have few references about the type 69. Anyway I'll try to give you something

If i were you I'd change the tamiya T-55 gun

Is not a necessary improvment , but anyway, it's molded in two pieces so it might be better change it with Aber aluminum barrel (or Jordy Robyo, which is a little less accurate but cheaper)

Sven, great work so far! I have unfortunately not yet gotten to do it... Oh please try the camo pattern, it's the best thing about it!

One question: The upper hull is grey, is it primed or is that an after market item?

Cheers!

Hi Sven

I made one, It a good model. The kit has one trouble, the laticce are big, and the kit needs a motor.

I painted with model master colours (Italian olive green-italian dark brown- italian sand)

I show you my model:
