@Robert, Jean, Charles

Why don't you write some tutorials about your Ice dioramas?
They looks outstanding and I think it will be very useful for all of us to know how you can get those results

I could write an article about the ice technique but it is not really "my technique" I got it from an ancient Modelrailroad scenery book from my dad. And i think it has been printed in several other publications as well. Thought it was pretty neat and easy to do since it is made with stuff pretty much everybody has laying round the house.
But if the interest is there I'm willing to make an article out of it.

With friendly greetz

Robert

Well I think that several people would be very interested...And it woldn't be important for them how did you learn your method

Well I need some time to track down some suitable clear blister package and I can do a tutorial. I know I have some of that stuff at my parents home. probably will skip by there this week. And maybe my GF has something around the house. Shouldn't take me too long to make it into an article.

How did you get the frosty chunks in the "ice"?

Resin chunks inside resin chunks inside resin chunks.
really, if you Google for ice you will see that ice takes many shapes, many colours and many levels of transparency. Really all the tricks above are absolutely valuable.

As for where does the scene comes from, well from my imagination as well as from some old pictures of that special cruiser lying in the ices of Kronstadt

Here is an older one

All this has reminded be of an old joke: "Why can't blondes make icecubes? Because they forgot the recipe!"

Robert: Great, looking forward to it!

Jean: Alright, I wasn't sure if you cured the resin in some special way or if you added other chunks into the resin as you poured more resin chunks.
Those are seriously cool dioramas. I'll have to find some kind of project where I can try out that type of ice

Biggles2: Lol, I figured it was only a matter of time until someone came up with a joke for this thread
