Need some help here from the masters of Armorama ..I got my hands on a Bachmann 0 scale signal bridge for a model railway for next to nothing and it got me thinking ..,,I'm going to use it as a crane for the removing of tank engines with some mods of course .
What i need help with is the base ..a big concrete slab .
Hows the best way to build one ..was thinking some MDF painted in the right sort of tone and then wash and stain it to get the best affect , any help here would be great
Cheers

The most realistic way to do concrete is with plaster of Paric. Build a form and pour it just like concrete. Then paint a medium grey color and weather with some washes. It comes out looking really good.

In addition to Gino's assistance, you can tint the plaster during the mixing stage to save touch ups later.
