I'm building some wargaming boards but I'm approaching the project just as I would a diorama.

These boards are 1/285th scale and represent a generic middle eastern town.

Hi Allen,

Nice work, and to think that it is 1/285th scale. My only advice is that the mosque should be closer to the city/ town maybe even in the center, I live in the U.A.E and from what I see people walk to the mosque so it has to be close.

Nice work (I like the humvee)!

Thomas Friedman

İf we are talking about facts it is still weird for me

at the end its Allen's personel prefer/pleasure and this fact doesnt change the beauty of this diorama

I know for a fact that there is a McDonald's in Beirut (was there with the U.N. in
1995) and there is loads of McDonalds in Isreal

Yeah well: Friedman was always a bit of a utopist, but that is off topic.

Nice going on the wargaming board, Allan. As for the Mosque location: they come in all forms. Smaller one that are part of city blocks, bigger ones that are city blocks, on squares and some can be a little further out, depending on what ground was available for purchase (it is not common, though since as a religious building, you want easy access for the people.

The mosque itself is reminiscent of the type you would find in the Levant.

Actually as I get more buildings done, the more residential parts of the town will come out to meet and surround the mosque. This is a WIP.
