Hi everyone.
Can anyone advise on a good "allrounder" airbrush please? It would only be used for hobby work, to spray acrylic (Tamiya and Vallejo) and enamel (Humbrol) so whilst I'm not talking down at the cheap n nasty end of the market, I don't want to break the bank either.
I realise that whichever brush make, cost, etc, it's only going to be as good as the finger on the trigger, but if I use a quality tool, I can isolate any problems to the tool using it!
I don't want to start a war amongst members, since I realise you'll all swear by your own brushes, but a bit of advice on an upgrade for my old cheapos would be good.
Thanks in advance.
Richard

Hi
One of the better all round airbrushes is the Iwata Revolurion CR or BR if you want a finer point, but the CR will do most if not all of your modelling needs.
Price is quite good as well at around £60 to 70
Mind you you can get a Chinese copy of a Iwata Custom micron for about £15 which are also quite workable if you get a good one. PM me if you want a link to a good one.
Prices quoted are in UK Pounds, dont know what part of the world you are posting from, if USA add 50% for rough $ conversion
Hope this has been of help

Thanks Paul, I'm in UK same as you.
Been looking at the Iwata brushes on ebay since a lot of the people on here seem to use them. Thanks for putting the model numbers down too, it helps to narrrow the field. Price is good, I didn't really want to spend more than about £100 to £120ish. Are the grey imports really as good? Mind you, for the price you mentioned, it could be worth paying for the genuine thing as CR which would get most use, and a cheap import BR and take a chance.
Thanks again, I'll be in touch.

Richard- I have an Iwata TR0 (it comes with a 0.2mm nozzle but I use a 0.5mm nozzle) it was expensive and is a good airbrush. But spares are quite pricey. I recently decided to buy an airbrush for what I would call scut work- basically an airbrush I can abuse a bit without having to worry about wrecking it since it didn't cost very much. I got a Premi-Air G35:

It has actually really surprised me and can do very nice fine lines right up to large areas- its simple to use and quick to clean and spares are cheaper than Iwata.
Hiroboy.com also do it cheaper than airbrushes.com but they have no stock right now:

If you are willing to spend a bit more then I'd say either Iwata or Badger. I'm sure there are other guys here who could give you info on a variety of other brushes that won't break the bank.
Good luck.
