Very nice! Except that I'm left handed...
I seem to remember hinting at this guy a few weeks ago in one of the GMV threads.

The WIMK stuff looks very good, I may just have to get my hands on that weapons set.

I would say Robert is the right one... as he said, he's left handed.
I like the figure, I wonder how it compares to Evolution new SF releases. Or the similar SF figures from Infinity Shape, now long OOP.

Someone should do a comparison of the WMIK Upgrade sets and wheels as we're talking about a lot of money to be spent on upgrading a plastic kit. We have a few brands now for the WMIK.
* Which kits are necessary and which are "nice to haves?"
* Which kits will set the WMIK to a certain date and Operational Theater?
* Do the sets complement or conflict with each other?
* Do the upgrade kits fit?
* And finally...is it worth it for the plastic kit? One does not want to run the risk of having a plastic kit upgraded to 90% resin...that'll be silly.
The Legend ODA figure looks very nice. I think it's the only long-sleeved 1/35 ODA SF figure out there outside of Airborne Minaitures (which doesn't have an ODA as of yet).

Excellent point. Personally, it seems that every few days i'm posting more News of MORE update sets from (at the latest count 3 manufacturers) i'm finding it confusing as most seem to be covering the same area.
We'd strongly welcome a Feature piece on this subject....

As far as what s necessary/what is nice: The latest weapon release by Legend is a definite "MUST" no matter what time frame one is building for-- it addresses not only the GPMG and .50 MG, it also corrects the L85 rack between the front seats to its proper position. If that set had the front basket on the bonnet, that would take care of just about all the problems I have with the kit. The kit appears to be for an 'early' version, though there are a few late model details worked in. The tyre sets by Legend are a matter of opinion; the G90s (aggressive) are good if one does not like the 'rubber' tyres in the kit; some can live with them (personally, I think I will choose to replace, depending on the cost). The "standard pattern" are for up-to-date vehicles in Afghanistan; they cannot be used for 'early' vehicles; do not think they were around much before 2009 (need the input from someone in the service to provide more accurate info on this!). The more extensive update set from Legend, as well as that from Black Dog, represents vehicles that currently serve in Afghanistan; many of the features are not appropriate for a vehicle for Sierra Leone,Kosovo or the initial incursions into Iraq/Afghanistan in 2003. An approx in service. date for these sets would again be about 2009, but may be a year or so earlier. Black Dog's and D-Toys figures are also late war/current era due to body armour being worn; I believe this type introduced in 2006? Most of my info is from dated pictures in books; a serving squaddie's notes would be most appreciated and much more accurate, but I believe I am pretty close. One really needs to check one's reference material if they have a specific time frame/vehicle in mind. Like most combat vehicles, updates and modifications--official and in-the-field--occur on a daily basis! I believe the Land Rover WMIKs are being withdrawn or at least reduced in number in Afghanistan and replaced with the larger Jackal vehicles. Any info on this??

That's what I thought too. The US SOFs weren't too pleased with the FAV, DPV, and Land Rovers and thus evolved to the GMV which could haul all their operators and gear whereas the former three cannot. The GMV could squeeze into a Chinook. The UK probably had the same thought as well with their Jackals and Coyotes.

There are now more Coyotes coing into service. This time last year the manufacturer had switched to Coyote production over that of Jackal.
How do I know this? Every year, I spend July in Plymouth (where they are built) and you quite often see them getting test-driven through the streets of the city. Their acceleration is such that they frequently 'burn-up' Boy Racers at the traffic lights - without all their gear, these puppies are REAL fast!

I really can see your point Peter,
I think the Black Dog kit is very nice but not at $80.As I posted somewhere before,I can't justify spending that on a kit that only cost me $32 with shipping.
Douglas,thanks for the info.

The BlackDog set (at Jadar hobbies) sells for around $70 but includes the stowage, wheels and 3 figures. The 3 figures alone could sell for $45. Anyway, you can get the set without the figures for around $36... so, it is kid of pricey.. but I don't think it's too bad... kind of like buying a $40 Stryker kit and buying $100 worth of PE slat for it I personally wouldn't do it
