Just watched a video on airbrushing tips, the guy mentioned you can get finer details with the tip cap off. Was wondering what other people are doing?

Hi
You only get finer detail because you can see to get the tip of the needle closer to your work, do you need to get a super thin line when you are painting. The drop off is that the needle is more likely to be damaged.
