Title pretty much says it all. I'm trying to find alternatives to Future for my modeling so I'd like to know how Vallejo's gloss fairs in this respect.
Thanks!

Rob,
I just used it yesterday on a 1/48 Tamiya 10HP Light Utility Truck, in place of Future. Works well, but it will fog clear plastic (wasn't thinking), but it scrubbed clean with some Windex.
I used the Vallejo Model Air Gloss Varnish, and it is a bit thicker than the other paints in the Model Air line. Maybe my bottle was old, but I had to add about 1 drop of the Vallejo thinner to each 5 drops of the varnish. Sprayed from a Badger 100 at around 16 PSI. Still seemed a bit "pebbly" when compared to Future, but I wanted to give it a shot.
Hope that was what you were looking for.

Thanks very much for the feedback, gents! Although I'm a bit surprised, and disappointed, that it fogs clear parts as Matt stated (I model modern aircraft also so there's some concern there), I may still give it a try.
By the way, Matt, that is one superb model you've got there!
Again, thanks for the input!

Rob, adding the gloss or satin varnish to your paint (about 20-25%) works very well. I haven't had any issues with silvering of decals and it gives a good base to start the weathering. This way you're not spraying it on the clear parts.

Funny you should say this, James, as I was just reading issue 44 of MMIR and sure enough, in his article on the KV-I, Mike Rinaldi mentions adding Model Air gloss varnish to the paint as opposed to afterwards. I will be giving this a try.
Do any of you know now why Vallejo clear varnishes fog clear parts though?
Thanks for the very useful feedback!

As far as the fogging, it's not clear like Future is, but has a milky consistency. I'm sure it dries clear, but for some reason, it doesn't like to dry that way on clear parts. Still came off easy enough with some Windex though, so it didn't harm the plastic underneath.

All of Vallejo's varnishes are the same, whether you buy it from the Model Color line, Air Color (which is now OOP as it is the same as the varnishes in the Model Color line), or the Game Color varnishes.
This came from Alex Vallejo himself when I posed the question as to why the Model Air varnishes were so much thicker than the Model Air paint. I was told all of the varnishes are actually the same product, just labelled different for each line.
