Skytrain, Carentan is a town located on an inlet between the Ohama and Utah beaches that was assaulted by the US 2nd Armored and 101st AB about June 11th, 1944. Caen is a city located behind Sword and Juno beaches. Caen did not fall to the British until July 10th.
Caen and Carentan are two different places. I think Carentan is too far west to have seen any British or Canadian armor but I suppose it could have happened.
Hope this helps.

Hi Skytrain, I'm not quite sure about the Brit's, but elements of the U.S. 2nd Armored Div. were sent to Carentan to support the 501st & 506th PIR's of the 101st Airborne Div."Screaming Eagles " who were badly in need of medical attention, and low on food and ammo. They were up against the 17.SS Panzergrenadier Div Gotz von Berlichingen and elements of 6.Fallschirmjager Reg. As for the Sherman tank's, they were of the 66 Armored Reg./ 2nd Ar. Div.

british and US forces linked up in a small town called port-en-bessen,
roughly where the british an american beaches meet.
carentan is way too far west for british operations, and caen is too far east for US operations. if you want to depict a link up of british and us forces it would have happened inland of port-en-bessen and remember tnks would still have wading gear fitted so you would have to scratch-build or buy after market stuff.
hope this helps
