I have completed my M119A1 and added a crew on a small base. Here is the [/url=https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/176831#1484341]WIP post[/url] for the gun. It is a resin piece by Mouse House Enterprises out of Australia. It represents a piece from the 82nd Airborne Division in Iraq or A'stan in the early days when DCUs were still worn.





The crew are modified Dragon and Tamiya figures. The gunner straddling the trails has legs from the old Tamiya Armored Troops set. I added new boots from a modern Dragon figure. The IBA-clad torsos on all the figures are resin casts from Verlinden and the one with the Camelback is from a copy of a Trumpeter torso. The gear is a mix of items from various Dragon sets. Most of it comes from their Modern USMC (OIF/OEF) set. As does the radio operator (radio bag is from Pro Arts excellent SINCGARS set) and the standing figure inside the trails, who is holding the lanyard, by the way. The ammo bearer is modified from the Dragon US Army Green Berets set.





The rounds, casings, and "tootsie roll" tubes are from Resicast. The ammo crates are cast pieces from somewhere (sorry I don't remember where). The open ammo box was built from sheet styrene by me. The stenciling is from a friend, thanks Bro. The collimator is also scratch-built using plans from the same friend.

this is a wonderful diorama, most are overdone, you've captured the scene perfectly (including the tampon!)

If I was to be hyper critical I'd say that your sigs left boot floats a little above your base (in pic 6), and maybe you could do some footprints to indicate the activity of setting up and loading the gun, but to be honest it took me 15 minutes to try and find something to criticise! I wish I was half as good.

Nice work Gino, I was wondering (after seeing the 'in progress' shots a while ago) what you were going to do for the crew and you've done a stellar job with them. I like the range finder device (not sure what its called exactly- the thing that looks like a telescope?) too. The scene is definetly well set.

Shane - Thanks for the comments. It was a pain to get the figures to stand/kneel right. The Frankenstien work to get the figures I wanted was a pain. I think they came out pretty well though.

Gino - figs may have been a PITA but Dr Frankenstein did a wonderful job. Nice work with the details. Crates turned out great and you can pick up your displacement, colimeter looks good

Really? all the USCG personnel I saw in Afghanistan were in ACU's with Coast Guard name tapes and boonie hats. Interesting, one day I'll build that USCG up-armored HMMWV.

Steve: guess I was being a little too general; DOG units and I think cutter crews wear the DCU's; you are right RAID teams that work directly with Army units shift into ACU's...forgot about that
