Hey guys,
Thanks to AFV Club and Trumpeter we have a mass amount of stryker varients. I want to build a stryker as seen in some recnet pictures from afghanistan with no cage armor. My question is should I just use the trumpeter m1126 which is currently $19 or should I get the AFV Club stryker for $36.....the big thing is the cost so what is the main reason to pick between the two

Re: the Trumpeter kit, something I found out just a couple of days back is that Trumpeter seem to have issued a new version of their M1126 kit. Basically, they've substituted the retooled and extra parts that can be found in their later Stryker kits. You can see the contents of the new boxing here:
http://www.trumpeter-china.com/a/en/product/armor/1_35_Series/2010/1116/1478.html
The only problem is the packaging seems to be identical to the original boxing. I e-mailed both Hannants and HLJ to see if they had the new boxing. HLJ said they only had the original, but Hannants said their kits had the new parts and a "NEW!" label on the box, so I duly ordered - I should get the kit in a couple of days so I'll know then if I'm right or not.
Overall, the AFV kit is still the best, but an upgraded Trumpeter M1126 kit should be a much closer second place than the original, which left a lot to be desired.

The major inaccuracy I keep hearing for the less expensive trumpeter kit, is the remote weapon station. The rest are smaller details that I guess can be fixed.

The RWS is one of the things Trumpy fixed after the initial M1126 kit. They also retooled the front of the hull, the stowage racks and rails, the tyres, lights and included new PE, figures, ration and drinks boxes and a few other bits 'n' pieces. These parts all look to be included in the updated M1126 - unless trumpeter's website is wrong.
The new RWS is also available separately, and trumpeter do an excellent PE upgrade set too.
But my guess is for $19 we're talking about the old kit.

Sounds like a good plan.
For anybody interested, I've just received the upgraded Trumpeter M1126 kit from Hannants, and it does contain all the retooled parts, including the improved weapon station.
The other good news is Trumpeter have changed the packaging style from the old red box to the newer-style white and grey box, and put a 'New' stamp on the box ends, so it's easy to tell the new from the old versions of this kit.
