Hi at all,

after so many Vietnam stuff i wanted to do something different. I ever wanted to do an Special Forces Humvee so my Question is if i can use the Academy M1151 Humvee for conversion as an Special Forces Humvee. I will use the Pro Art Models Dumvee conversion set and don´t really know what humvee i schould/can use. In many post i have seen they use the good old Tamyia one but i think i get more for my money for example when i get the new Academy one. The Bronco M1114 is a little pricey for the conversion. I know the M1151 engine is better and gives more power because of the more armor on it. So that should be no Problem in real use. So what does the Humvee experts think about that.

Thanks for every help

Stefan

DMVs were based on A0 series vehicles (from what I've read a combination of M998s and M1026s). The initial GMVs are based on the M1113. I've seen recent reports that they're now being fabricated based on the M1165. I've definitely seen GMV-Ns based on the new chassis design (indicated most notably by vent/radiator above the wheel well). The short answer is to research the vehicle you're most interested in doing and see.

You can use the new Academy kit to make a GMV (M) used by MARSOC. The extended radiator, the A/C grill are there for you. The windshields are different, but you can come close by plating over the gap in the center post. Obviously, you won't be using a whole lot from the Pro Art kit, but it will still be useful.
Lots of scratchbuilding involved as well. I've been trying to get someone to do one of these for a couple of years now. I may have to break down and do it myself.

Guten Morgen Stefan,

I found a couple of pictures of a M1151/M1165 based GMV. I consider doing one myself (after M1165 Prophet, M1151 basic and M1167 ). Drop me an e-mail at [email protected]

Cheers
