Aloha to all you Panzer III experts:

I am building Dragon/Cyber-Hobby's Pz. Bef. Wg. III ausf. K (with Schwerer Plattformwagen Typ SSy) for the Command Campaign and came across this hole in the turret top. The instructions don't make any mention of it, neither for something to put into it, nor to fill it in. So, what would, could, should go there, or should it just be filled in?

Thanks, in advance for the help.

I'm not 100% sure I have'nt got much refrence on the Pnz III but I think its a hole for the T.S.R.1 observation periscope to extend through. The Pnz IV beobachtungs Aust J had the same set up

Does anyone know if the Pnz Bef Wgn III Ausf K share the the same turret as the Pnz IV ? If so then this could be the answer.

To my knowledge the K model was not equipped with the TSF 1 periscope. The periscope would have been mounted further forward on the turret roof than the hole in your photo is located. The hole in your photo is the location of the signal port and the signal port cover should be placed there.

Thanks for the replies Geraint and Joe!! I'll look for a signal port cover in the kit, as it has extras on just about everything.
