How "modern" are these figures?

The british Infantry looks like late cold war (L85 rifle, camo clothing)

The german infantry look like modern day "cotton ball commandos" with G36 and armored vests

They're all 1980s-90s except that last 2 which are 2000s

The IDF paras are late 80s early 90s

Does anybody know if these figures can fit in a bit more modern setting?

http://www.greatmodels.com/~smartcart/cgi/display.cgi?item_num=VPI0574

say about 2003 at least?

Could they be used to crew an NBC vehicle, say for example the Stryker variant? Which I do recognize would be much more current than 2003.

The Brits are definatley post 1990, the standing guy appears to carrying a LAW 80 strapped under the top of his bergen and appears to holding his weapon (SA80) in his let hand. This is not possible as the older L85A1 has a reciprocating bolt...which will remove teeth! The kneeling guy appears to be wearing chest webbing and carrying a bergen. Neither soldier appears to be wearing CBA (Combat Body Armour).

Although both figures are shown with green trousers these should be DPM, the plain green 'Lightweights' only had a flat pocket on one leg. The fiigures are wearing the Mk6 Helmet.

I have yet to see any decent pictures of CMK figures and I wish that CMK would post/publish pictures of their figures. The only images are all quite small and it this that puts me off buying any CMK figures.

Definately not Falklands, the first is armed with an L85 and the second has a LAW 80. They also have mk 6 Helmets which like the weopons post dates the set . I'd say late 80's to early 90's for the British set.

The British set isnt that good too be honest. I had a set ages ago and if i can remember correctly they are wearing either PLCE webbing or an ARKTIS chest rig, yet all the modern Brits have the older 58pattern large pack molded on their backs (although these look overzised on the figures) i'm pretty certain this combo is total fiction and not at all accurate.

From what I've seen of CMK figures there's probably a reason for that!

I have two or three in the stash somewhere and "serviceable but not brilliant" would be my general overall assessment. In any event don't expect the last word in figure-sculpting genius. Alpine they definitely aint.
