This was a very interesting campaign and one that I intend to do justice to in scale some day.

Not only was it conducted mainly by the Canadians, but it provides an opportunity to build many of the amphibious vehicles that you'd normally associate with the war in the Pacific!

I'll be looking forward to picking this one up at my LHS.

Always great to see a new book about campaigns in Holland towards the end of WWII. While Market Garden is obviously the best-known one, the Walcheren campaign was an important one as well, especially from a logistical point of veiw! Judging from the sample pictures, this book should provide inspiration for some interesting diorama opportunities.

Thanks for the review. I have the book D Day Commando by Ken Ford covering 48 RM Commando and chapter 6 covers their part in it. This would make a nice suplimentary overview of the operation, lots of dio possibilities with this operation.

Mmmm - must read that one, particularly as it covers a very important but little covered operation which definitely contributed to the war'sprogress, if not reducing its length. No doubt there are also some very good diorama oportunities, but given that the majority of the troops concerned are Commonwealth, finding figures might be a tad difficult.
