If converting a Tamiya M113 or Academy M113A2 to an 'new production' M113A3, should the fuel filler cap just be cut off and sanded flat?
Anybody know what happens to the old fuel filler cap when a M113A3 retrofit is done?
Thanks,
Paul

The whole where the fuel filler cap would go is plugged with a cap simmilar to thw cap on the antenna attachment points. Simmilar or extra antenna mount cover as found in Academy M113A2 kit will fill the whole just fine.

There are walkaround shots of an M113A2 and A3 as well as a side-by-side comparison of the differences in my motor pool. To access, click on the ugly green and yellow logo below.

Thanks for the answers guys. Of course Rob's Motorpool has the rear facing shot of the top deck so the production M113 A3 has no sign of the old fuel cap of course but it looks like some sort of non-slip on the top deck. I'll drop and give you 20 for not finding it in the motorpool.
