I'm building a M901 Hammerhead vehicle during the REFORGER 82 time. On these and all others during these exercises we used what was called the M.I.L.E.S. system this was used as a tool that when you or your vehicle was hit a orange light that was used would start to flash. So my question to you guys is this, where do you put that orange light?

According to the technical manual for the M73 MILES, the light is mounted via an adapter to the engine cover lifting eye using mounting bolt holes.
You can find the TM through ETM: https://www.logsa.army.mil/etms/welcom1.cfm
Click on "Enter the Site," then search for "MILES" in the "Pub Text Title" field. Then use the find function (hit Control + F to bring it up) and search for M901. The manual number is: TM 9-1265-202-10.
