I have the HobbyBoss 1/35 V-150 with 90mm Cockerill Gun.
I am ideally looking to build a Royal Thai Army example, however I am having some trouble with the turret mounted [commanders] machine gun.
The kit provides the following (M240?) gun and mount:
However the Royal Thai Army uses the German M3 Machine gun on it's V-150s:
This raises two questions which I would like to ask:
1. Does anyone have any details or pictures of the gun mounting?
2. What would the best 1/35 source be for the M3?
Any thoughts or comments would be welcome. Would also be greatful for any other photos of Royal Thai Army V-150s with the 90mm Cockerill gun.
Regards

I don't know which MG3 would be best but I can tell you which ones would not be - and they woulod be from any Revell kit I'm familiar with. Maybe some of theirs are better than what I've seen, but I'd say you can't go wrong with one from say... a Tamiya Leopard. (I guess in a pinch you could go with an MG42.)
As for the mount - can't help you with a photo. My guess would be since it obviously has to be compatible with the gun, just go with whatever comes with the gun you find.
Next step: Buy, Sell, Trade forum.

Thanks for your reply.
I had considered a getting a Revell kit, one that could be built minus the MG3, but I might now reconsider. The newer Revell Wiesel 2 kits seem to offer decent MG3 albeit with rather unconventional mounts.

MR Modell makes a white metal MG-3 :

Here's a Portuguese V-150. The pictured MG is a M60, but maybe the mount is the same

Looks like a great M3 but when you take into account postage it costs more than the base kit!
