Hey all,
This is the first figure I have ever painted. I used primarily Vallejo and Tamiya acrylics and a couple MM shades of green. Like I said this is my first attempt, so let me have it... Like and dislikes and such.

And maybe a possible Diorama in his future.

Overall i am pretty pleased for my first try. Was really fun and only took about half a day maybe a day total time.

Now to look for the next figure.

Its a Think 180 Studios figure. Jeff sold most of his first figures he sculpted to MIG productions. Not sure if MIG released this one yet. Figured it was a good one to start on due to there being no skin.... Plus I think he looks pretty cool. I know the camo pattern is a little large I think, but Its been so long since i have seen the old MOPP gear that maybe it looks close enough.

I love it! He looks ready for business. Definitely worth what you paid for him. Hope you blog your build, if you set up a vignette with him.

Thanks Matt. He really was not that expensive. When Jeff at Think 180 was selling them he was 13.50. Once he sent his masters to MIG they started selling them for 21 bucks a piece. I sure wish Jeff still had his business, but I know he sculpts for New World Miniatures now. He is a great guy as well!!!

Looks real great Jeremy, being your first figure it came out good. As you mentioned the camo pattern is a little large is no real big deal, thats the learning curve we all go through. I knew you could do it...so lets see the second one.

It looks excellent to me. The only suggestion I would offer is that it looks like the roll on his back and the bags on his hips have been painted out of the same tinlet. I try never to use the same colour in any two places, because it is just very unlikely. One thing that drives me spare is when you see several figures side by side wearing identical shades of uniform or alternatively their clothes exactly match the paint colour of the vehicle next to them - it says "paint".

It is a very very minor suggestion though, and is anyway a matter of opinion not fact.

He's terrific, do more!

I actually tried to use all different greens. I think during the blending process they go a little muttled. Will try to get a slightly more dramatic contrast next time though!

Thanks for all your inputs so far.
