I know what you guys mean .. i made the mistake/good idea buying one years ago ..same here in NZ ,,cheap and nasty ..wasn't the case of counting what was good because there wasn't enough to bother counting and what the hell was it with those tracks ? ,, I mean the things were alien to most of the glue i used to try and fix them together so after a spark ( ok very small spark ) of pure genius I thought wrecked tank sitting on the side of the road and plain forgotten about ..worked great for that

Anthony ..very nice job so far mate .. keep it up ,,cant wait to see this model done .

Hello Anthony,
for sure you have guts to tackle this kit
You've done a large amount of good job so far. I have a point concerning the turret armor blocks, in my opinion they are not thick enough at their base. Have you checked your dimensions with the pdf file you use as reference ?
For the rest, I'm impressed by your bravery I chose the easy way for mine as you know.

Keep on posting.

Hi there,
Greetings from Trinidad & Tobago. I love your build. You are a true model builder, and shows that life does not start and end with Tamiya T-55. I'm fed up with everyone's insistence that all other T-55 kits are worthless and we are/were fools for purchasing them. I have 3 ESCI kits (2 Verlinden Enigma conversions), 1 SKIF AM and 1 Trumpeter w/dozer blade. I can't see myself giving away/trading all that away for 1 Tamiya/Legend kit combo. Good luck, you are an inspiration.

Well Kurt the same way I'm feed up with lots of modeller who saying that actually Esci t-55 kit is stunning
I'm joking, of course, please don't feel offended.
In my personal opinion, working on an old kit always worth the pain if that kit has rough details but good shape and dimensions, so I can live without smart kits. But if you have to rebuild the kit to correct it, well i think it may be better doing something else.
Anyway mr Zach Sex and mr Rob Ferreira (aka Scratchmod ) have done outstanding jobs using old Esci kits as base. The first has done a series of stunning russian ARV (so it has used very few parts of the original kit) the second has done an impressive t-55 wreckages

I've also seen a stunning job done by mr 'Mac' Macconnell
