Gents,
I am contemplating a scratchbuild of one of the above multi-turret monsters to go with my 1/32 Airfix Russians.
The issue I am having is that right now I can't see how to do the wheels and tracks.
Does anyone have any tips in this area? Also, and as a possible solution, does anyone know if the wheels and tracks of any 1/35 kits would work for a 1/32 version of any of these?
I can live with the tread pattern being wrong but the width would need to be about right otherwise it will bother me. The wheels on the SMK look remarkably similar to KV1 wheels to me, does anyone know whether they were the same?

John you dont need to worry any longer .... the SMK/ T-100 is based on the KV-1 so the tracks, road wheels and suspension are all the same ..the T-35 is a different matter .. that vehicle used its own suspension set up with its own tracks and so on..apart from using T-35 drive train i dont know of any thing else which you could use to duplicate it .

John
I am in the proces of scratchbuilding the T35 in 1/72 scale. I have lots of info on what you are looking for. I have just cast the running gear for this beast.
There is a kit of the T35 in 1/35 made by Allinger i have seen it in one of the stores I go to sometimes, I think it was going for about 30 dolars canadian

Hi there
To be more clear, I really want this in 1/32, in order to fit with my Airfix 1/32 figures (they happen to be among the larger figures in the range).
So the ideal donor kit would be a 1/35 kit of a tank which in real life had wheels and tracks 10% wider! I.e. in scale for 1/32!
I am fairly sure the SMK had KV wheels but there is more than one type.
Neil, I scratchbuilt two T-35s once, a long time ago. I used them for wargaming. I used Airfix Stalin tanks for the wheels and tracks, which are not right - a bit too big - but looked good enough in 1/76. I'd be very interested in any tips you can post about how to make masters and cast from them. All the guides I've read have been for simple shapes, never anything as fiddly as tank running gear.

Is the old Tamiya KV series 1/35 or was it the fudged 1/32 like their old T-62? That MIGHT be of interest to you...
