I haven't posted here for a while but wanted to chuck these in here as I've just finished these two and looking for a little feedback for anything I can tweak before I get on with painting them. I think I've covered all my bases but if you see something you think I've missed sing out.
These are made up from a set of legs, two torsos, two heads, four hands, two sets of boots, wire, putty and Mr.Surfacer ( that's covered in full in the build log but can't be buggered rewriting it all here ).
These are covered in full on my build log HERE , this is just the finished result. They're a bit shiny ( as is the Steyr which is actually a darkish, dull red. I'm working on changing my halogens for neons to give more neutral lighting for photographs ( deep dark winter here, so not much in the way of decent natural light these days ).

Looking good. it looks like the injured guy has actual weight and is having to be really dragged out. The only thing I'd possibly change is the lifting guys' face, have him grunting/shouting, just a liitle more expressive.
Well done.

I wouldn't know where to begin to do that. I just made these for a build I'm doing. I generally like to do my own figures as thee's a seldom a readily available one that is perfect for my wants and needs.

Very convincing poses. I would have to agree about the rescuers facial expression though. He looks too non plussed?

That should change with the painting, it's hard to see in the monotonal colour but he has his teeth gritted. Hopefully once the faces are painted that will come out more.

Yeah I remember that. Man you like them with big guns don't you.
Trumpeter is supposed to have the E-100 out next month and I kinda like the look of it myself.
If you made it to Model-X last month I was there on the Sunday with the Waikato club sharing the IPMS Auckland table.

Ratte ? as in the huge 1000 ton German super super tank ? oh trust me i have thought about it ,...and yes the thought is still there .. would be a hell of a project and massive to boot ..the barrels would have to be custom made as i am unaware of 1/35th scale 16in gun barrels lol but where theres a Phill theres away lol

I'd be more concerned with the tracks. The 16in guns would scale out at close to 1/2 an inch so you could just use a couple of .50cal barrels.

This is them painted. Any input is welcome. I already know my face painting sucks, I need to work on that. I also need to try a few different settings on the camera to lose the funny "edge" against the background and sharpen up the images.

It may just be the camera but the uniforms look very glossy. I'd give them a once over with dullcoat. Good job so far.

Yeah that's the light, they're not that glossy IRL. I'm trying to get better photos, I've decided it's time to invest in a high end camera and a decent lighting setup now that I'm putting more time into the website. Currently I have to rely on natural light and being the middle of a dreary winter all I ever get is gloom or brilliant sunshine at the moment.

Those look good, what flash setting do you use ? I gave it a try but the flash still made everything too shiney. I might hunt out my old camera ( my daughter has it somewhere ) and try that as it had an option for a diffused flash which this camera lacks.
Did these ones outside this morning in the early morning light before it got too bright, they look a little better. I still need to play around with the background colour though as the blue still creates a sort of ghosting ( the black worked okay for close ups but loses too much detail further back ).
Few more photos HERE

Hey Dean .. the camera i use is a Fuji Finepix S3500 and as for the flash settings its the one the camera uses lol .. havent played around with it at all and i dont think it has any control over how bright it flashes ..its a 6x optical zoom with 4 mega pixels ..surprises me the photos it can take ,,its nothing amazing but still does a pretty good job now i know what works with this thing
I had to play around taking photo's to see what works best ,,now its sweet ,,but like you said in your last post time it might be to buy a mega camera for all your site work ..then there is nothing stopping you
