Jeff,
It's my understanding that their TS5 "Olive Drab" (#85005) is a lighter WW II-era olive drab, and their TS28 "Olive Drab 2" (#85028) is a darker Vietnam-era olive drab. See this Listing .
On the other hand, Testors makes an enamel spray paint (#1911) actually called "FS34087 Olive Drab".
Hope I helped!
thanks,
Sean.
edit: (Having fun with links here...) In This article, there's a lot of disparaging research on exact shades of OD, so the way I read it is don't sweat it too much, unless you know you're going off of an accurate color photo, or you remember it just so.
-thanks again!

Sean,Thank you.model is sprayed with testors #1911(enamel) now.I would like to use some AK weathering stuff (also enamel) and am conserned that the effects will soften or melt the base paint.I also know that tamiya spray cans are laquer and I would be taking a BIG chance putting it over the base.I have no airbrush at this time...... Is there any type of spray can barrier coat that I could useJeff,

Jeff, that's more than I know. I agree with you though, that the Tamiya site says "Tamiya spray paints are not affected by acrylic or enamel paints. Therefor, following the painting of the entire assembly, details can be added or picked out using enamel and/or acrylic paints. By combining of three different paints, the decoration of plastic models will become simpler and more effective."
I hope that's reassuring for you.

Sean that quote says to me that you can put acrylics and enamels over the tamiya paint, but can you put the tamiya over these without lifting problems?JeffJeff, that's more than I know. Jeff,
Krylon makes spray can acrylic gloss clear and matte clear. Available at Wal-Mart. This will put an acrylic barrier between your base paint and the AK effects. You won't have any problem. Then if you want a true flat finish, you can use a spray can of Dullcote over everything, again with no conflicts.

In place of gloss clear, you should be able to use Future.

Matt, Jeff doesn't have an airbrush, which is why I came up with a spray can alternative for him.
Jeff, it's Krylon #3530 Clear Matte Acrylic that I'd recommend for a base for weathering.
I can't find my can of gloss right now, but it will be right next to the matte at the store.

Hi Jeff,
Spray cans put out a lot more than airbrushes, so two light, complete coats should be sufficient.
Sorry for the delayed response; the wife wanted to go to Maine for a few days. Just walked in the door.

Jeff,
Well, Maine is a big state and trust me, our two days had NOTHING to do with modeling or racing. I hope all goes well with the clear coat.

Hi
How about Testors version of FS 34087 in spray can SKU# 1911 I think its also a gloss finish as well so no need for a gloss cote before you add decals etc.
