Looking good, maybe add small amounts of dust on the tires.

Hisham- thanks for stopping by. I used PVA Glue/White Glue/Canopy Glue for the PE parts over the lights. I wouldn't worry too much about those PE parts too much- they are quite thick and easier to handle than something thinner like Eduard.

Roman- Cheers! I haven't found the bit of wood I want to mount the Yongshi on yet, when I do I plan to add some pigments to the tyres and the wheel wells.

Looks great Karl.

I picked one of these up at the Irish IPMS show on Sunday and started it last night. It really does fit together very well, at least on the undercarrige. Your blog will be a great help: thanks.

Cheers
Sean

Hi Karl,
sorry, hadn't seen you reply before now. The Irish IPMS show was excellent. Great turn-out and lots of excellent builds on display. I believe it was the biggest show yet.

Anyway, here's my Yongshi :
It built up very nice and easy, exactly as you described.....then I made a mess of it. Decided to go with an overall white UN scheme. Humbrols enamels wern't up to the job after doing just one part so went for a spray can. What a mess! After repeated attempts and cleaning I had a paint job that while not great I just couldn't try any more... I had also gor a spray can of satin clear, so used this before the decals and frosted all the windows! What the heck!! It's meant to be clear.... Had enough at that stage so just put on the decals and wheels and called it done!

The kit is great, the mess is all of my own making!

Hey Sean- I reckon you are being a little hard on yourself. Apart from the windscreen this is a nice build! I've done that with a fair few glazed parts myself. They should invent a product to remove it from glazing!

This actually looks very fetching indeed in UN camo- I think I'm going to have to add this scheme to my 'to do list' aswell as several others! Congrats on the build Pat, I'm glad you found it a good kit to do. I'm patiently waiting for the DongFeng to be released now!

Blackwater- much appreciated> ! I think I get what you're saying about the camo scheme- it would be easy to spot on land. I think there are some ships in the PLAN that use the same scheme and on the sea it would probably be quite effective, on land probably not so much but it does make for an interesting finish on a model!

I am sure if you drove the car into the water the camo would be quite effective..

Nice job Karl!
