Hi...Have any of you bought or have has anyone seen these die-cast vehicles. I got an e-mail from www.Internethobbies.com and after searching through the site i discovered these 1/32 scale WWII and Desert Storm/Iraqi Freedom vehicles, and they look awesome and are about the same price as the comparable Tamiya vehicles in 1/35th. I'm thinking about buying the Stug and the King Tiger.
Also...I was at my local Wal-Mart and dicovered several 1/32 scale plastic kits from a company called Motor Works they are the Sherman and American halftrack and only cost $14.98 apiece. They also come with figures. Has anyone seen or built these?
I just bought the Tamiya M-26 Pershing at a show and boy am I impressed. The model looks excellent. I can't wait to build it. It will be an excellent break from the Zimmerit Trail.
If anyone has any info on the above-mentioned items I'd sure appreciate any info you could give me. Thanks...Bodeen

Bought the Sherman for one of my sons to build as a snap-together kit to tweek his interest.
The look is good. With a little dirt and dusting around the tracks and underside they really look good. The figures are fine and add to the kit. While assembling the kit however, he tweeked alittle too much. Now I have to apply glue. Still, he loved it and we spent some time together doing a kit. For the price you can't beat them. And if you do, as in his case, you fall back on the glue thingy.
All in all, they filled the bill. I wanted a snap-together kit for him. I got one. He's happy. I'm a good dad. Life is good. War is hell. etc. etc. etc.

My local Wal-Mart had the Motor Works armor. In addition to the half-track, I saw an M24 Chaffee and PzKpfw IV. The basic outline and details remind me of the old Renwal 1/32 scale kits. Very heavy handed and over sized. I did look at the box tops and they were pre-decorated and went together with screws and some snapping. It is good to see any armor kits available at a common store like Wal-Mart. I think my 9 yr old is beyond that type of kit, but my 6 yr old is right in the ballpark for these kits.

Thanks guys...i guess the consensus is..unless i'm a 6 year old i should probably avoid these kits. I appreciate it. I do know some kids who are going to get some of these though.
i guess noone else has heard of the Unimax kits. I know Michigan Toy soldier also sells them and apparently they are top selling kits. Thanks again. Jeff

I have seen some of the Forces Of Valour vehicles (and their figure sets) and I must say I was well impressed. The figures come in a kind of diorama setting and look o.k.. Talking about this, take a look at the vehicles here: http://www.corgiclassics.com are these nice or what?...Jim

hey jimbrae...neat site...i wonder what those 1/50 scale vehicles would look like next to a 1/48 scale plane? They are really well done. i'll bet they are very expensive. Have a good one. Jeff

Jeff, they are expensive, but they are really nice...did you see both sites? Some are available in Britain, others in the states... The aircraft are really something as well. Best of the lot is the T34.....Jim

Bodeen,
I collect 1/32 scale diecast vehicles includung the FOV line.. They are REALLY nice for the price and since they are not models, they don't have quite the detail, but are GREAT collectibles.. I collected diecast long before I got back into modelling and haven't been able to stop..lol... If you want to check out my repainted FOV King Tiger, you can click on my album below.
Or here is a link to one of the pics: http://groups.msn.com/armorama/hworth18spics.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=12857
BTW, I also collect the Corgi 1/72 aviation line and 1/50 tank line..
