Hi everyone,

I'm starting to do some preliminary research on a new project and would like to see if anyone here has some info point me in the right direction.

I have a couple of tentative PAnther Ausf. G, mid-Sep-Nov '44 production subjects in mind and will probably build which ever I can best document:

1) A Panther G, no Zimmerit, preferably with the raised heater, in the MAN / MNH factory-applied "disk ambush" scheme. I'm looking for a subject tank from any Heer (regular German army) unit on the Western front.

2) A Panther G, no Zimm, from either the 2.Pz Div. or Pz Lehr Div. during the Battle of the Bulge in the vicinity of Celles, BE. I have the photo of 2.PD Panther 111 knocked out in Celles / Foy in several references, but would like to find some other Panthers from the same unit with other turret numbers to confirm the unit markings.

Here's a link with several photos of other Panthers reportedly knocked out in the same area:

Project-1944 Celles Panther

As you can see, with the exception of a few visible Balkan crosses, none of these tanks have any markings. This is suggestive that they're from Pz. Lehr not 2.PD since I have one other Panther photo in my references from the Battle of the Bulge that Zaloga attributes to Pz Lehr, and it's also without any visible unit markings.

So, does anyone out there have any leads on finding a Western Front "disk cammo" Panther G or some info on the turret / unit markings on the 2.PD and Pz Lehr Panthers from BotB?

TIA,
