I'd love to see this model. What nationality and painting scheme do you plan to use on it? It should make for a very interesting piece once it's done especially at this scale.

Hi Murrdo,Jim,and Patrick thanks for looking in on this one,i will be building it as the 165 Lancers stationed in Cyprus in 1974 during the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. Some time ago i did a 135 scale Saladin as a trial run, this was long before i came across the Kit Form Services kits. As they do the whole B80 range plus a Bedford 4tn a Humber Pig and they are doing the Ferret as well i have some major savings to do.I cant get any pics down loaded yet i cant get the hang of it as yet so any tips as im a bit thick when it comes to the comp....cheers Noel

Post some pics of the 1/35 Saladin too please! What kit is it?

It's such a fascinating vehicle and long overdue a decent affordable plastic kit.

I have a really old 1/35 Tamiya kit that I'm doing up but it really is a rubbish kit to start with. The hull is completely the wrong shape underneath and everything else is very inaccurate. The wheels are absolute rubbish.

Hi Murdo the kit is by a uk company called Kit Form Services, they have a website that shows of all their kits pretty well. I cant seem to sort my pics out on here,it has been a long time for me posting on here so i am still struggeling with photobucket at the moment....cheers Noel

The Saladin is a vehicle that I've always wanted to model, but never been able to get a kit of. Tamiya's is unfindable even on Ebay and the Firing Line kit's wheels look very thin (I think D J Parkin may have redone this recently though).

The 1/24 version looks terrific (as does everything else in their catalogue!), but the price would lead to divorce.......

Hi Dave the Firing Line Saladind did suffer from skinny wheels but this was a throw back to when Dartmoor Military Models produced it, Firing Line has certainly got to grips with it now though. I think if you want any of the B80 range of vehicals or Ferrets you cant beat them for the price and service that they offer. The cost of the 1|:24 Saladin is certainly the dearest kit that i have bought, but to me it evokes memories of being 9 years old being a service kid in Cyprus living at the base where they were based. I was so impressed that a decade or so later i even enlsted into the 16 5 Lancers..cheers Noel

Hope you get the photo thing sorted out (because then you could school me as I'm struggling with the same thing). Pictures of this build would be awesome. Let me know if there's any accessories you might need as I may have something that would work.

Look forward to seeing this one in progress.

Whoo Hoo! Thanks for the photos. It looks like one impressive kit to undertake. I imagine in 1/24 this bad boy is a pretty hefty chunk of resin. How did it go together? Any fitment issues or problems? Looks great!

Hi Patrick sorry this has taken so long to post Patrick it is a bit tricky to post on here as i am def not too clever with the pc. A few years ago i put up a 135 Saladin as a UN white Cyprus 1974, and Kit Form Services also have done the Decales for the same option as wePhotobucketll. It was the dearest kit that i have bought but boy is it worth it..Cheers Noel

Thanks for posting Noel. I've seriously considered purchasing one of these kits but I'd like to know what I'm getting for all that money.
